How to Plan a Life-Changing Vacation
The deeper you dig into why you need a vacation, the more empowered you’ll be to make positive change.

Another day of work (or study, or parenting, or dealing with chronic health issues—take your pick) and you’re just tired of it. Stressed out. Frustrated. You’re running on empty.
You need a vacation.
I understand. I’ve been there, burned out, got the t-shirt.
So. It’s time for something different.
Maybe you start dreaming and scheming, imagining yourself on the beach. In a cabin in the forest. At Disney. Or maybe on a boat. Leaving it all behind, just for a while.
You need to find yourself again. The you that’s happy. The you that feels alive and wants to be here.
So you look at your bank account and you figure out what you can afford. You take a nice trip. It’s lovely. You get home and it’s back to the grind.
How much of a difference did that vacation make for you? Did it change anything? Did you find yourself?
That’s meant to be a genuinely open question, I’m not trying to lead you to any particular conclusion. I think it’s worthwhile to look back on your vacations and ask, what were their lasting effects?
I find that when I have gone with an intention that’s important to me—like bonding with family members, learning something new, or reconnecting with myself—the effects of the journey tend to stay with me in a way that’s less likely if I’m just traveling “for fun” or because I had days off.
So, if you want to plan a life-changing vacation, get real with yourself. Ask some deep questions.
What kind of change do I need?
What isn’t working in my life right now? What’s causing me anxiety, frustration, or sapping my energy?
Do I need a new career?
Is an important relationship in trouble?
Am I in touch with my sense of purpose in life?
What do I want my life to look like five years from now? How do I bring that future to life?
These are all questions you can ask yourself. You can journal or meditate on them, you can discuss them with someone close to you. If you choose to work with me, I can create a safe space for you to explore these questions and assist you through every phase of planning and booking your vacation (for free, btw).
You might be skeptical of the idea that a vacation could be life-changing. Or maybe that it could be life-changing for you. But you’ll never know if you don’t try. Shoot me an email here.
